National Superhero Day - April 28, 2021

Super heroes comics and movies are all over screens, rooms and more, but some people wonder how these fictional characters become so popular, and why they were made. Well the reason for super heroes is to protect those who are in need of help, and to fight crime. There are many different types of heros, whether they be from the Marvel universe, the DC universe, some more powerful than others, and some with no powers.
During the times when comics were beginning to become very popular, DC’s Superman comic was released, well, actually the oldest superhero is known to be The Phantom, who was shown in a newspaper comic strip, and then Superman came along and this started a huge chain of more heroes and comics to be made. Superman was DC’s first superhero to be made, in 1938.
The first Marvel comic and hero was Captain Marvel, who was at first a male, but later was shifted into a female hero, so yes, DC did come before Marvel, but with these comics doing so well, both creators began to create more and more through the years, the popularity even lasting to now.
One Thing that many people have fought about is which is better, DC or Marvel. But during a survey for which it is more popular, many people said that they did not mind either but, overall turned out Marvel more popular. Neither creators have said, anywhere I could find, that they are better than the other, but really, neither is technically better than the other if we really look at it, yeah, they both do better things than the other, but still, that does not determine if one is fully better.
