Amanda Gorman - African American Poet


Amanda Gorman holds the title of the youngest inaugural poet in the history of the United States. She’s also an award winning writer, as well as a cum laude graduate from Harvard University where she studies Sociology. Amanda Gorman has written three books and has a fourth one being released under Penguin Random House. She has performed for people like, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, and many others. She’s also the youngest person to be in the position of reading her poem at an inauguration. Amanda Gorman read “The Hill We Climb” at the January 20th inauguration of President Joe Biden. She’s been recognized for her achievements by many sources, such as The New York Times and Young Arts. She’s even been appointed as the first ever National Youth Poet Laureate by Urban Word.
